For this series of pictures I was able to get my hands on the new Canon 60D. I was just getting random shots of things to test out the cameras capabilities. I took a nice little stroll around the BYU-Idaho campus and found some really interesting things to capture. The snow really helped to capture a mood in these pictures. The mood to me is wanting to escape the winter. Maybe that's just what I want and wish.
Overall I was very impressed with the Canon 60D. It has great capabilities and the lens I used with it, 50mm 1.8, performed very well.
The picture titled "guitar man" was shot on a different day and was in a low light setting. I wanted to go with something interesting on this shot. I decided that I didn't want to bring either one of his hands in focus but that I wanted to just bring the fret board in. I think it was able to catch an entirely different aspect.

  1. Looks good, man. You obviously have knowledge in the lenses and f-stop area, and that will help you a lot. (I might have to try out your 60D, by the way!) You do well with your compositions- You use the rule of thirds well. I especially like the still life at the top. Your DOF shots are good- it really makes your eye focus on what's most important in the picture. I especially like the detail on the strings in the guitar picture.
